In accordance with state and federal laws, MUCAI Academy has adopted the following privacy policies, in addition to our general policies, which can be found in our handbook.

1. No teacher, parent, volunteer, or visitor may photograph or video record anyone without the express written consent of the parent/guardian on file (or of the student if he/she is over 18) while in MUCAI Academy or at MUCAI Academy performances (especially backstage). By participating in MUCAI Academy performances, you are giving consent for MUCAI Academy representatives to photograph/record your student. Photos taken in public community spaces (outside, in the theater lobby, at a KidsLinked event, etc) are legal, as long as the photographer is not alone with the child/ren, and pornography is not suspected.

2. All families must consent for MUCAI directors, staff, and board members only to take photos of students in class or at to share with parents on Class Dojo,  for marketing purposes (including advertising on Facebook and elsewhere), and for newsletters. Teachers who are not directors will not take any photos or video record students. Students who do not have permission on file will not be photographed and will not receive shared class photos (photos are only distributed to families whose children are in them). This new permission form will be posted in the parent portal for everyone to acknowledge agreement with. For students who live in two different households and both parents are legal custodians, we will need the consent of both parents. If only one parent is the legal custodian, we can only take the consent of that parent. Cassady families see below for differences in this policy.

3. Students should never take photos or video record other students (including adults) in the studio or at MUCAI Academy performances without the express consent of those they are photographing AND their parents, and never in private spaces where people might be exposed.
